ENGIDRO - Estudos de Engenharia, Lda. (Engineering Studies, Ltd.) - (www.engidro.pt), is a Portuguese consultancy company, founded in Lisbon in 1979, which focuses its activities on the provision of engineering and architecture services with emphasis on the environment and quality of living, particularly through the development of studies and projects in the following key areas: • Water Resources and Hydrology; • Water supply (domestic and/or industrial use), including abstraction, treatment, pumping, conveyance, storage and distribution; • Waste water (domestic and/or industrial) and storm water, including drainage, treatment and discharge; • Solid waste (domestic and/or industrial), including collection, transportation and disposal. Over the past 35 years ENGIDRO has constantly been concerned to renew its technical staff, while maintaining the value of having first generation partners in its administration, coordination and technical staff, which confers a high level of technical prowess, recognized by all partners and customers. From this constant concern to rejuvenate the business structure, has emerged the ENGIDRO Group. Today it comprises a group of companies formed from the initial consultancy firm, to cope with the demands of the market and ensure greater consistency in various aspects of the operational management involved in the business of consulting and project. ENGIDRO has clearly focused in consolidating its business in the domestic market, and wants to see it translated into an increasingly effective collaboration in engineering consulting with major companies and organizations involved in the environment and water resources management. As of 2008, given the evolution of Portuguese and international markets, ENGIDRO has expanded its area of influence into other countries, through the participation in companies in East Timor (www.raidiak.com), Angola (www.cenga-angola.com) and Mozambique (www.eeplan-consulting.com). Currently is committed to take its knowledge and services to other international markets. The ENGIDRO mission is to provide a service of high quality technical areas in which it operates, seeking to meet the expectations and needs of its clients through a clear commitment to personalized services, which gives an image of confidence and credibility widely in the sector. Is since her genesis an independent and autonomous company whose technical staff is governed by high ethical standards and ethical development of its activity, indispensable contribution to the personal and professional fulfilment. The aim of ENGIDRO, in all its activities, is the excellence and the quality of the services. The policy that ENGIDRO has set demonstrates the management's commitment in the implementation of the Management System Quality Management under the NP EN ISO 9001:2008, to be followed by all employees and those working on their behalf. ENGIDRO’s Quality Policy consists of the following guidelines: • Customer focus: we provide services and solutions according to the needs and expectations of our customers; • Culture medium: we strive to provide our employees with the work environment, technical resources and infrastructure necessary to build an effective and efficient response to the needs and expectations of our customers, with respect and fulfilment of legal requirements; • Skills development: providing our employees access to training facilities and developing skills that are necessary to conduct the activities for which they are committed, as well as those in perspective for the renewal and innovation of our value chains; • Guidance for quality and continuous improvement: to actively sensitize all our employees to the importance that quality has got in building our future and in particular the responsibilities we all have in the learning, improvement and constant development of our systems to ensure they meet current and future requirements of our customers; • Promotion of partnerships: we strive to develop ties of cooperation and to promote effective partnerships with civil society in general and in particular with our suppliers, in order to improve performance levels and customer satisfaction. ENGIDRO has a permanent technical staff with a high competence and experience, collaborating with specialist consultants on several areas of expertise. It is a solid team which enjoys credibility with important public and private managing entities. ENGIDRO currently has about 40 employees distributed by the Group companies, including middle and senior technicians and staff support services. The permanent technical team covers most of the specialties of various areas of engineering and architecture. This team of experts has a permanent presence of faculty from leading institutions of engineering education in the country and also counts on the collaboration of several experienced and highly skilled external consultants.
